Surviving is a son Rick Clark (Cindy) of Mt. Hope, daughter-in-law Kathy Clark of West Union, OH, stepchildren Betty Miller (Thomas) of Queen, Cathy Erb (Bruce) of Hollidaysburg, Jerrold Mock (Susan) of Altoona and Thomas Mock (Linda) of Claysburg, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, brothers Sidney Clark (Charlotte) of Scottsdale, AZ and Carl Clark (Patty) of New Hope, sister Thelma Clark of Altoona and a special niece Robin Clark of Claysburg. He was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Clark, step daughter and husband Dottie and James Stamper, brothers Vernon, Lloyd and Elwood Clark and sisters Virginia Hornick and Bertha Clinich.
Hayes was a member of the Claysburg Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon and was active in other church ministries. He retired as a mechanic and equipment operator from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company after more than 35 years of service. Hayes volunteered at the Claysburg Food Bank for many years and was also active in the Claysburg community. He enjoyed woodworking and helping others.
Friends will be received from 4-8 P.M. on Monday August 23, 2021 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg and from 10 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at the Claysburg Church of the Brethren, with Pastors Ron Bashore and Rick Clark officiating. Interment at Claysburg Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to his church, the Claysburg Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
