Phillip K. Johnson – age 86, of Sac City, formerly of Rolfe, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the Park View Care Center in Sac City, Iowa.

Phillip Keith Johnson was born on April 29, 1935 near Rolfe, Iowa. He was the son of Fritz and Arlene (Kilbourn) Johnson. Phil graduated from Des Moines Township School in 1954. He served as a radio operator in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, Phil returned to Rolfe. In 1961, Phil was united in marriage to Marie Turley in Rolfe. The couple settled on the Johnson family farm near Rolfe where Phil farmed and sold seed.

Phil was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed flying model radio controlled airplanes, motorcycle racing in his younger years, brewing his own beer and wine and was an amateur radio operator.

Survivors include his sons, Scott Johnson of Rolfe, Shelby (Kari) Johnson of Seargent Bluff and Sean (Sarah) Johnson of Spencer; 8 grandchildren; brother, Arlin "John" Johnson of Waterloo and sister, Linda (Mike) Hood of Rolfe. Phil was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dean Johnson and sister, Debra Newgard.
