Jack was born on May 17, 1938 in Springfield, the son of Leonard Joseph and Edith Rose Taylor Berry. He married Sandra Ann Regan on June 18, 1960 in Springfield; she preceded him in death on December 6, 2014.
Jack was a graduate of Cathedral Boys High School and attended St. Louis University. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and KC Hall Council #364. Jack retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a family-oriented man, who enjoyed camping, cooking and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, John J. "Jack" Berry II of FL; three daughters, Kelly (Rusty) Reed of Springfield, Karen (Allan) Berggrein of St. Petersburg, FL, and Jennifer (Doug Parisotto) Ealey of Springfield; ten grandchildren, John J. "Jack" (Jessica) Berry III, Stephanie Berry, Nicole (Jason) Taylor, Spencer (fiancée, Evelyn) Reed, Hayley (Connor) Etheridge, Tyler and Madison Ealey, Matthias Berggrein, and DJ and Mary Parisotto; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Patrick "Pat" J. (Audrey) Berry of Grand Junction, CO; and several step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service, followed by a law enforcement walk-through.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
