Shirley "Maxine" (Ogden) Rose
September 16, 1936 ~ April 7, 2021 (age 84)

Maxine Rose, 84, died Tuesday, April 7th, 2021, from the prolonged impact of Multiple Sclerosis, Polio and a recent stroke. She was born September 16, 1936 in Trinidad, Colorado.

Maxine was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Ogden and Atta Dee (Howe) Ogden and sister to Frankie Dee, Dixie Lee and Robert Frank. Maxine leaves behind her four children, Gayle Deann, William Wayne "Chip", Deidra Suzanne, and Clifton Lee. Six grandchildren; Eric (Brandon), Joshua, Rachel, Benjamin, Summer, and Casey and ten great grandchildren.

Maxine graduated from K-State University where she achieved a teaching degree. After graduation she married Dr. Wayne Rose, PhD, with whom she raised four children, three of which were adopted. They lived in Sherwood Forest in Merriam, KS for the next thirty years. Wayne passed away in 2000.

Maxine volunteered and managed the Teachers Resource Center for the Church of Christ of Overland Park for 25 years. She was a life-time member of the PTA. Maxine contracted Polio as a young teenager and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 24. She maintained her independence and continued a full and happy life. Maxine was a woman of unbreakable faith and deep dedication to the church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and wife. She will be forever missed.

Visitation will be held at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210 on Saturday, April 17th at 11 AM with the Funeral Service following at Noon. Interment will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Lenexa, KS. Suggested memorials are The MS Society, Christian Family Services or Tallgrass Christian Camp.
