Phyllis was born on February 17, 1928, the daughter of Cecil M. and Ercel E. (Smith) Dodson in Danville, Illinois. She married Melvin D. White on October 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2021.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Karen (Michael) Turner; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Timothy) Bleigh, Michael D. Turner and Jacob (Maysa) Turner; two great granddaughters, Abbigail and Gwendolynn; one brother, Cecil M. Dodson, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; two brothers and sisters-in-laws, David and Wanda Dodson and Dale and Dell Dodson, as well as two additional sister-in-laws, Diane Dodson and Marna Swank.
Phyllis enjoyed spending her free time reading, crocheting, coloring and wordsearch books. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling, camping, and gardening together. Phyllis especially loved and enjoyed her family, she loved to cook for her family and wanted you to eat.
A private burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
