Kenneth Ray Palmer of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the age of 87. He was born December 8, 1933 in Leon, Oklahoma to J. D. and Viola (Brown) Palmer. He attended public schools from which he graduated and later obtained his bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
Ken married the love of his life, Ann McDonald on June 22, 1957 in LaSalle, Texas. They shared more than 64 years of life, marriage and memories together.
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Africa during the Korean War. He later received an honorable discharge in November 1957.
Early in his career, he worked in the gas and electric industry as a power plant inspector for Power Plant Construction. He moved his family in 1975 to oversee the new construction of the Muskogee Power Plant near Fort Gibson. He worked for OG&E and retired in 1993 after 34 years of service.
Ken will always be remembered as a quiet, soft-spoken, and honest gentleman but a fierce love for his family.
He will be dearly missed every day.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Ray Palmer in 2011; triplet great-granddaughter, Ally Renee' in 2014; three sisters, Bonnie Palmer, Hazel Snider and Helen Palmer; two brothers, Albert Lee Palmer and Peyton Palmer.
Ken is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; three daughters, Renee' Fredrick (Brian) of Oktaha, OK, Diana Lynn Johnson (Joe) of Wagoner, OK, Terri Lancaster (Cliff) of Lebanon, OK; grandchildren, Rachael Fredrick and fiance' Eric Moore, Amber Morgan, Crystal Barker (Billy), Dee Dee Brown (Shawn), Cynthia Irvin, Buster Irvin, and Dakota Palmer; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with other family members and friends.
