Elizabeth (Betty) Bartkowitz was born June 11, 12938 in Sobieski. On November 18, 1972, Betty married David Burton of Rice and inherited a stepdaughter, Rebecca Jo Burton (Smithwick). Betty and David lived in St. Cloud until 1980 when they moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where they lived until 2008 when they moved to Sanford, N. D. to be close to their daughter and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband, David Burton; stepdaughter Rebecca Smithwick (Howard) of N. C.; granddaughters, Julianne Butler of S. C. and Samantha Sparks of MD.; along with 2 great-grandchildren, Talan and Olivia Butler.
Betty passed away June 12, 2018 at her home in Sanford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Bartkowitz and Martha Wozniak Bartkowitz; and her siblings: Frances Yasgar-Lashinski, John Bartkowitz, Helen Slattery, Tony Bartkowitz and Agnes Golombiecki.
A memorial service will be held on June 30, 2018at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski.
