She was born in Detroit on May 26, 1960, one of fourteen children to Walter and Elizzae (Powell) Cox. Shirley was a devoted mother, a great cook and took care of her children with love and care. In her spare time, she loved watching her tv shows on LMN.
She is survived by six children: Antonio Kennedy, Terrance (Martha) Townsend, Brandon (Megan) Townsend, Christopher Townsend, Chaquita Cox, Patricia Cox, eighteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters and many extended relatives.
Cremation has taken place. The family will have a celebration of life, privately at a later date. Please keep the family in your thought and prayers.
