"Doll" was born and raised in Pennsylvania. She and her family lived through the Great Depression and she often shared stories of how life was during that time. She graduated from Ridley Township High School as an honor student in 1946 and attended two years at Susquehanna University in Sellingrove, PA. She worked various jobs, mostly as a secretary and retired from the South Central District of MSHA (Mine Safety Health Agency) in 1995 as the Supervisory Secretary. She was a founding member of the Sullivan Hospital Auxiliary and spent many years organizing the annual Hospital Auxiliary Carnival fund raiser. She was a Citizen of the Week in the Sullivan Independent News in the '60's and was recognized for her community involvement. She was baptized and raised in the Presbyterian Church having served as an ordained Deacon, Elder and Honorary Life Member of the Presbyterian Women USA. Her children were baptized, confirmed and raised in the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies in Mountain Home, Arkansas and helped organize a chapter in Sullivan. She was also a member of the Sullivan Rebecca Lodge, the Eastern Star and the Sullivan Elementary PTA. She dedicated her life to her church family, her family and the communities where she lived.
"Doll" was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She is the loving mother of Marie Flinn and husband Obby of Bacliff, TX, Lee Jones and wife Huimei of Caledonia, MI, Ken Jones and wife Sandra of Sullivan, MO, Kathy Holland and husband Scott of St. Clair, MO, Nancy McCulloch and husband Mike of Sullivan, MO, and Charlie Jones and wife Bonnie of Gerald, MO. She is survived by 18 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, brother in-law Ronnie Roberts, sister in-law Virginia Jones, 10 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews, and 23 great-great nieces and nephews; she considered this her legacy of life.
Visitation (10 am) and memorial service (11 am) will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church, 284 East Cumberland, Sullivan, MO with pastor Ron Koppelman officiating.
Grave side services will immediately follow with interment at Hill Cemetery in Bourbon, MO.
