Douglas Duane Martin, age 71 of Midland, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center. The son of the late Clifford Martin and Geraldine Buckey was born February 27, 1950 in Delray, Michigan. He served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Douglas worked with Saginaw Steering Gear for 30 years before retiring and enjoyed hunting, fishing, competitive running, i.e., full and half marathons. Doug will always be remembered for the love he had for his family and always put them first. His favorite thing in the world was being a grandpa and was looking forward to meeting his new granddaughter.
Surviving is his son, daughter, three grandchildren, great grandchild, four siblings and best friend.
In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Martin. He was also preceded in death by his dog and best buddy, Montana.
Private interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
