December 7 1928 - August 10, 2021
Audrey Orah Lewis, 92, entered heaven's gates on August 10, 2021, in Spotsylvania, VA. She was born to the late David and Bessie December 7, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA. Audrey attended Westinghouse High School before receiving her beauty college and Associates degree in Social Services. Audrey entered the workforce early in life where she retired after 20 years from Allegheny County Children and Youth Services and Penn Hills Senior Citizen Community Center where she worked 20 years as a site manager. Audrey loved the Lord. Christian faith was an essential part of her life. Deaconess Audrey was a member of Church of God her entire life and served God as a member of the missionaries, Usher, President of the choir and a Trustee. Audrey loved, roller skating, crochet, arts and crafts, but her true love was singing. Throughout her life, she was a member of the Mable Wilson Cathedral Choir, Cherry Johnson Travelers, and the Sounds of Heritage, an acapella group, which recorded several Negro spiritual albums and traveled throughout the United States praising the Lord through song. Audrey walked this earth for over 92 years providing love and support for her family. Her departure reminds us that angels will be watching over her seven children, fifteen grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren as she reunites with her husband of 52 years, Robert A. Lewis. Audrey requested to be buried in Allegheny Cemetery with her beloved husband. A small family gathering celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, August 25, at 11:00 AM at Lincoln Avenue Church of God, 404 Lincoln Ave., East Liberty, PA 15206.
