Obituary of Sara Louise Ray
Sara Chisam Ray, age 90, passed peacefully on August 18, 2021. A joyous reunion took place as she was reunited with the love of her life, Charles Ray; her beloved grandson, Spencer Kile Alford; and countless other family members and friends who preceded her on this journey.
A loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend, Sara leaves behind her children and their spouses, Anita Ray Fugatt (Ron), David Ray (Debbie), Karen Ray Bowles (Dan); grandchildren, Brian Hayes (Jean), Ben Hayes (Deanna), Christy Ray Smith, Lauren Bradford (Clint); and great grandchildren, Justin Hayes, Coral Hayes, Gavin Hayes, Charlie Ray Hayes, Chandler Hayes, Ellison Bradford, and Elliott Bradford.
Sara was an active member of Hixson 1st Baptist Church for many years. Her expertise as an extraordinary seamstress was sought by many, and she sewed countless costumes for church plays, wedding gowns, and costumes for special Hixson High School Band performances.
Sara shared her bright smile and loving heart with others throughout the world as she travelled extensively.
Sara will be deeply missed for her joyous presence in our lives and her devotion to her family and friends.
To exemplify Sara's consideration of others during the Covid pandemic, the family will hold a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sara's memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (http://www.michaeljfox.org).
