Sammy was a retired employee of Canteen, he enjoyed yard work and gardening during his retirement.
He was predeceased by his parents Sammie and Katie Harris and a sister Linda Trotter. He is survived by his wife Frances, his children and spouses, David (Cathy) of Hubert, Phillip (Susan) of Smithfield, Chris (Lynette) of Raleigh and Sylvia (Ricky) of Broad Creek, a special sister Sue (Darrell) of Clyde, also four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, a special nephew Phillip Dickens (Crysta) of Waynesville and a special niece Tina Smith (Lynn) of Siler City and numerous cousins and other family members.
