Sarah R. Lawson of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 18, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born on January 23, 1932 to Richard Thomas and Claudia Ruth (Press) O'Dell in Collin County, Texas. Sarah married Herman Lawson on June 11, 1954 in Celina, Texas. She was a real estate agent during the 1980's in Collin County. Sarah was a member of the Owl Club, several bridge clubs, and a longtime member of First McKinney Baptist Church.
Sarah is survived by her son, Kent Lawson of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Lori Decker and husband, Eric of Allen, Texas; grandson, Andrew Decker of Allen, Texas; brother, William O'Dell of Denison, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Thomas and Claudia Ruth O'Dell; husband, Herman Lawson; brothers, Jacob O'Dell and R.T. O'Dell; and sister, Hilda Yeldell.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Altoga Cemetery. She will lie in repose on Friday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
