Mr. Jimmy Matthew Collins, age 47, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was born September 6, 1973, in Carroll County, to the late Helen West Collins & Jimmy Lee Collins. He was a forklift driver, loving daddy to his 3 children, and very proud Pawpaw. He was an avid baseball fan, and his other hobbies included fishing and talking about the games with his son in law, Nathan.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Jimmy Lee Collins, Associate Pastor of Message of Christ Holiness Church. In addition, he is preceded in death by his mother Helen West Collins.
He is survived by his 4 siblings, Loretta Collins (J. Calvin Spray), Ronnie Collins (Aimee Cosby Collins), Robert Collins (Laura Luallen Collins), and Richard Collins (Amber Waldrep Collins), along with several nieces & nephews.
He is also survived by his 3 children, Katie Collins Edwards (Brian Edwards), Kayla Collins Bowlin (Nathan Bowlin), Jacob Matthew Collins, and one granddaughter, Aleah Jayne Nickerson.
Mr. Collins was a lifetime member of Message of Christ Church.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 20 at Almon Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home. Services will be officiated by Rev. David Blackwelder, Rev. Gary Bell, and Rev. Curtis Holloway.
Music will be led by Bro. Glenn Blackwelder & The historic Christian Echoes (Pearlie West, Elizabeth Kimble, and Margie Holloway).
Interment will follow at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, 89 New Hope Church Road, Carrollton, GA.
Pallbearers will be his nephews Cody Puckett, Cory Puckett, Kane Collins, Weston Collins, Brandon Collins, Bryson Collins, and Bradley Spray.
Honorary pallbearers will be Connor Collins, Bryson Spray, and Chance Spray.
