Richard Stanley "Stan" Reed November 02, 1952 - August 18, 2021

Richard Stanley "Stan" Reed, 68, of 100 Forest Lane Drive, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at his residence.

Born in Fayetteville, Tn., he was the husband of Ladda Tipkunta Reed. Stan was the son of the late Ray Marshall Reed and Sue Melinda Hazelwood Mullins Mullinax, and the step-son of the late Bill Mullinax.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran, retired from Detroit Stoker Company and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Gaffney. Stan loved his family, all sports, (especially the Atlanta Braves, USC Gamecocks, and the Tennessee Volunteers) bluegrass music, and travel. He was a gifted craftsman, very mechanically minded, and loved a good jigsaw puzzle.

Surviving, in addition to his wife are a son, Tony Reed (Karla) of Spartanburg, S.C., and three daughters: Kim Mayfield of Knoxville, Tn., Cindy Hopper (Chad) of Gaffney and Patty McCluney (Brian) of Spartanburg. Stan is also survived by a sister, Marsha Hunter of Brunswick, Ga., and by three grandchildren, Simon Reed, Jared Mayfield and Alana Mayfield.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Kelly Reed (Hal) and wives Joanne Harriett Sanders Reed, and Judy Reed.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Gaffney with Dr. Tommy Huddleston, Pastor Holden Poole, and Mrs. Ladda Reed officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. Social distancing and masks are requested.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Im Jai House Foundation, P.O. Box 27256, Greenville, S.C. 29616.
