His family moved to Colorado Springs when he was 2 years old. He completed his first 12 years of school at Colorado Springs High, graduating in 1953. He attended college at Colorado State University graduating with a B.S. degree in 1957 and two days after graduating, he married Patsy Joan David. They began their married life in Glenwood Springs where he got his first teaching job at Garfield High School.

Roger and Patsy moved to Colorado Springs where Janette Luann and David Raymond were born and where Roger spent the next 26 years working as a shop teacher in the District 11 schools. After retiring from teaching he worked at repairing equipment for the school district, building southwestern furniture for a friend who was in that business, and he started a bullet making business which was highly successful. He received orders for his bullets from all 48 main land states and from several foreign countries. Roger was a gifted craftsman, doing carvings, faceting gem stones, and doing leather projects.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, his parents and his sister, Betty. ln 2001 he married his second wife, (another Pat) Patricia Ann Reese. They celebrated their 20th anniversary in April of this year. They had 20 good years together before Roger passed away on August 11th in his home after a short illness.
