Gwendolyn "Gwen" Black, 79, passed away on August 16, 2021 in Clovis, New Mexico. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021, 11:00AM at Texico Cemetery. Pastor Wayne Boydstun will be officiating.

Gwen was born on March 14, 1942 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Clyde Carter and Nancy Haynes. She marrie Paten Black on June 17, 1960 in Del Rio, Texas. They came to Clovis in November of 1969. Gwen was of Baptist Faith and loved to take care of God's creatures in her backyard flower garden. She spent a lot of time taking care of her two fur babies.

She is survived by her husband; Paten Black, her two daughter; Brenda Kelly (David) and Sandra Lynn (Jeff), her granddaughter; Chade, and her great grandchildren; Dicon, Kyan, and Aizley. Gwen is preceded in death by her parents; Clyde and Nancy Carter, and her sister; Geraldine "Gerry" Taylor.
