Sister Julia (Mary Adelma) Pittman, BVM, 71, of Marian Hall, 1050 Carmel Drive, died at 10:47 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Marian Hall.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Marian Hall Chapel. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Motherhouse Cemetery. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Julie (Mary Adelma) was an elementary school teacher in Chicago; Peosta, Iowa; Lincoln, Neb.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Quito, Ecuador. She was an administrator/director at Hospitality House of Vienna, Ill.
She was born on July 11, 1928, in Honolulu, daughter of Fred and Catherine (Leheane) Pittman.
She made her first profession of religious vows on Aug. 15, 1949; and her final profession on Aug. 15, 1954.
Surviving are brothers, Francis "Joe" (Vic) Pittman, of Kansas City, Kan., John (Ruby Ann) Pittman, of Archie, Mo., and Fred (Betty) Pittman, of Newton, Iowa; a sister, Margaret Chase, of Kansas City, Mo.; and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 53 years.
Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity BVM Retirement Fund.
