Obituary:

Michael A. Stubbs, Sr., beloved husband and father, passed away on August 10, 2021, in Knoxville, TN.

Michael was born in Chattanooga, on January 6, 1950. He graduated from Riverside High in 1968. After his college experience, Michael went on to pursue a musical career, playing keyboard for various artists, such as Temprees and many more, while working for Stax Records in Memphis, TN. He eventually settled into a career as a boiler-maker and retired as a Contraction boilermaker of 454 and a Quality control analyst

Michael relocated to Knoxville, TN, where he met and married his wife, Carla. The two enjoyed many years of traveling together among other things. He was always ready to take flight or hit the road and embark on new journeys whether for business on travel assignments or in his personal time. While in Knoxville, Michael's love for music continued. He spent many weekend afternoons teaching his grandchildren how to play the keyboard. Mike, as many called him, loved to host events such as backyard barbecues and family bowling nights, as he was also a league bowler in his recreational time. He was an all around family man with a contagious smile and unforgettable laugh. He will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by parents, Willie and Camille Stubbs. He is survived by Wife, Carla. Children, Michael (Chanel) Stubbs Jr., Michelle Widener, Dennis Lowe, Ashley(Chuckie)Burl, Brittany and Chelsea Roberts. Siblings, Gloria S Gordon - Collins, Alice Harris, Allen Stubbs, Larry (Virginia) Stubbs, Karen Stubbs Eason, Iris Givens, and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews other relatives and friends including To Tall Harris.

The family would like to thank Nurse Pam and Nurse Ainsley in the ICU at Ft. Sanders, Stacy Lightfoot, Richard Widner, and so many others .

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 2:30-3:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with Rev. John Jordan officiating.

Mr. Stubbs may be viewed on Friday August 20. 2021 from 5:00 p.m until 6:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
