He was a life-long resident of Baton Rouge. He graduated from Istrouma High School in 1963. He attended LSU, majoring in music, before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his military service, he worked at United Parcel Service before moving to Dow Chemical where he worked as a plant operator until his retirement. He was a member of Florida Blvd Baptist Church and Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling all over the country, and trying new restaurants across South Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Lee Davis and Lucile Cowart Davis. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Jordan Davis; sons, Craig (Pam) and Eric; grandsons, Simon and Collin; and sisters, Veda Dunbar, Doris Bueto (Fred), and LaNelle Fronek (Thom).
