Son of William and Sarah Hansen-Okins. He graduated from Velva High School in 1957 and enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a Military Police Officer for 3 years. In 1961 he married his wife. In 1964 they moved to Anchorage, Alaska, with their 2 children. After the 1964 earthquake and tsunami, they moved to Valdez, Alaska, to help rebuild the ravaged town. While residing in Valdez, their third child was born. The family relocated to California in 1979. Carl was a carpenter and owned his own construction business for most of his life. He was an excellent craftsman and practiced his creative carpentry skills throughout his retirement years. Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years, and three children, 6 grandkids, 7 great grandkids, and his brother.
