Beverly "Bev" Elizabeth Harris, age 71 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021. A Georgia native, she was born February 21, 1950 in Atlanta. Bev loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She loved being "Grandma-ma", and was a hard worker, especially caring for children. A Godly woman, Bev was highly respected for her religious beliefs and her dedicated services to her church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs, where she taught Second Grade Sunday School for 22 years and was a member of the church choir. She always loved to go bass fishing at Lake Oconee with her husband, Jimmy. Bev was smart, believed in "calling it like she saw it", was good with numbers and had a great memory. An avid reader, Bev enjoyed many genres of books, but was an avid fan of Danielle Steele and Mary Higgins Clark. She was known for her sweet tooth for Werther's Candies. Bev was loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 45 years, James H. Harris, Sr.; her parents, Walter B. and Kathryn (Daniell) Barnes; sister, Janet Sartelle; and brother, Robert Barnes.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Chad Harris and James Harris; brother, Ken Barnes (Phyllis); sisters, Linda Longe (Leon) and Kay Drummond; brother-in-law, Reverend John Sartelle; sister-in-law, Fran Barnes; two grandchildren, Kathryn Harris and Zoe Harris; as well as numerous loved ones, family members and friends.

Private services are planned for the family. Mrs. Harris will be laid to rest at Rosehaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Beverly to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation National Headquarters, www.msfocus.org, or by mail at 6520 N. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2132.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home, 8640 Rose Avenue, Douglasville, Georgia
