He was born on January 9, 1936, to Alma Brackett and Van Hill, in Attalla, Alabama.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean War. J.L. was a charter member and Deacon of Meeker Baptist Church. He loved to garden here at the house and he loved to hunt as well.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Delores Hill, his son, Josh Hill, his grandsons, Seth Hill and Travis Coe, two brothers, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Winona Coe, three sisters and three brothers.
A gathering of Mr. Hill's family and friends will be from 5~7pm, Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive in Beaumont.
His funeral service will be 10am, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Broussard's.
Interment to follow at China Cemetery in China, Texas with military honors.
