Gary Brian Turner, 53, of Orlando, FL, passed away on July 11, 2021, from complications of congestive heart failure.

Gary was born on April 30,1968 to James W. and Elsie Turner on Homestead Air Force Base in Naranja, FL. He attended Colonial High School and was a fierce competitor on the Grenadier wrestling team. Gary enlisted for four years in the US Army and served in Iraq during Desert Storm as a gunner on a Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

Gary was a FL DOC Corrections Officer and a meat cutter for Publix but the love of cooking won out and he cooked for several restaurants in the area. He loved to give advice on the best cuts of meat and how to prepare them. Family gatherings could be quite competitive with new recipes and revisions to family favorites. He loved to have a good time and always tried to make everyone laugh with his unique brand of humor.

Gary is predeceased by his father, James Turner, sister, Carol Barber and brother, Steven Turner. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Turner; sisters, Jackie (James) Miner and Lindsay (Jimmy) Hester; brother, Kevin (Kathleen) Turner and his children Zackary and Jacilynn Turner.

Interment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a future date.
