Robert was born on October 23, 1961, in Decatur, Illinois the son of Robert L. Bond Sr. and Martha Mae (Anderson) Bond. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1979 where he played football.
He accepted Christ early in his life and attended church at Trinity C.M.E.
On August 20, 1987, he married Bridgett (Taylor) Bond, the love of his life, where they had two children together. He worked at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) for 43 years.
Robert was a hard worker, loved spending time with family, and was known for his sense of humor. Robert loved to make money that he did not like to spend. He enjoyed refereeing soccer and volleyball games. His presence will be truly missed.
Robert leaves to cherish the memories of his children: daughter LaToya (Eric) Taylor, son Zachary Bond, son Samuel (Amanda) Ball; adopted son : Mardoche Beya; 4 grandchildren; siblings: brother Eduardian (Nancy) Liggons of Los Angeles, CA and sister Linda (Robert) Bond Baltimore of Decatur, IL; aunts and uncles: aunts Cathi (Rueben) Thomas and Kappi Moore both of Atlanta, GA, uncle Jerome (Debra) Lee of Kansas City, MO, uncle Jackie (Nicar) Lee of Atlanta, GA, special aunts Guster Latson of Decatur, IL and Mazetta Maxwell of Milwaukee, WI. Special friends and cousins Mildred Bond, Adelia Jelks, Lowell West, Steve Smith, Dan Irwin, Joe Slaw, Eddie Taylor, Curtis Taylor, Billy Lee, Greg Parish and volleyball and soccer referee family.
Robert was preceded in death by parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, and brother Jeffery Bond.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Benjamin Esparaz with Cancer Care, Dr. Roberto Pabalate with Decatur Memorial Hospital and Decatur Memorial Hospital Physicians/Nurses.
