SHREVEPORT, LA - Born February 10, 1929, Emily Elston Hodges passed away November 20, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, on Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Forest Park Cemetery on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate Emily's life with Dr. Spencer Murray officiating.

She was preceded in death by her beloved family, parents, Emily and Floyd Hodges, Jr. and her brothers, Floyd Hodges, III and George Hodges, Sr.

Emily, a lifelong resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and a longtime member of the Red River Sculpture Society. She was the founder of Hodges Enterprises where she worked balancing her entrepreneurship with her talent as an artist until her illness.

Emily is survived by her niece, Marjorie Hodges; nephews, George Hodges, Jr., Floyd Hodges and wife, Patti and Andrew Hodges; sister-in-law, Lillian Hodges Randall and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express a very special thanks to her loyal friend and caregiver Juanita Myles who was always there for Emily.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Dixieland Dog Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 36, Grand Cane Louisiana 71032 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
