Mr. Brett Ryan Butler, age 21 of Corbin was born in Lexington, KY on February 3, 2000 to Angela Hughett Cook and the late Donald Ray Butler, Jr. and departed this life on August 12, 2021.

He was a member of Steele's Chapel Christian Church and enjoyed being outdoors, studying Psychology, Glass Blowing, Community Service, doing impressions, playing the guitar, and time with family and friends.

In addition to his father: Donald Ray Butler, Jr.; his paternal grandmother: Shirley Butler; maternal grandmother: Marsha Hughett; and great grandmother: Nannie Hughett preceded him in death.

Brett is survived by his loving mother: Angela Cook and husband John Cook, Jr. of Corbin; a brother: Joseph Shumate and wife Brittney of Corbin; 2 stepbrothers: Tony Cook and wife Kendra of London and Chris Cook and wife Ashley of Italy; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Mr. Brett Ryan Butler will be conducted on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Steele's Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Andrew Darden officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery with Joseph Shumate, Tony Cook, Dallas Rogers, Dylan Hatfield, Dustin Bray, Shane Smith, John Pointer, and Sam Walters serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Wednesday Evening from 6 to 9 P.M., and Thursday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2 at the Steele's Chapel Christian Church in Corbin.
