From Schaetter Funeral Home:

Leo Harold Wills passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at the age of 85 at Methodist Metropolitan Hospital in San Antonio.

Harold was born in San Angelo, Texas, on November 5, 1935, to Hollis and Grace Wills. He graduated from high school in San Angelo, and after a brief attendance at San Angelo College, served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. After his military service, he attended Texas A&M and graduated with a BBA in marketing.

Following college, he was with Burroughs and with Texas Electric Service Co. in Midland, before working at the First National Bank of Midland as Auditor. During that time, he received an accounting degree from Texas Tech in Lubbock. From there he moved to Dallas where he worked with the FDIC.

Upon moving to Dallas, he married Mary Barr on Memorial Day 1985. They resided for over 6 years in Dallas until he was transferred to Franklin, MA, in 1991. They lived in Upton, MA, where he retired from the FDIC in 1997, but continued to live there until finally coming back to Texas in April 2005.

They built a home in Stone Ridge in Fredericksburg, making many friends, and enjoying a wonderful life there. He was a member of First Baptist Church, received his 50 year pin from the Masonic Lodge, was a member of the Scottish Rite, and was active in PCAA, where he volunteered for Octoberfest for many years.

He is survived by his wife Mary; two daughters, Angie and Mark Walker of Midland, TX, and Shay and Kevin Sanders of Midlothian, TX; 4 grandchildren Martin and Katie Phiffer of Midland TX, Hadyn and Gracesyn Weaver, and Paxtyn Wills of Midlothian, TX; and 2 great-grandsons Kam and Nevin Phiffer.

The family will greet friends 2-5 pm Saturday, August 7, in Fredericksburg Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in his memory to Hill Country Memorial Hospital, the Fredericksburg SPCA, or a charity of one's choice.
