Jeanne F. Wonson, 88, of Longmont, Colorado, formerly of St. Joseph, Michigan, died November 1, 2007 at Prospect Park Living Center in Estes Park, CO.

She was born March 20, 1919 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Frank and Janet (Thomson) Bunks. She lived in the St. Joseph area until 2002 when she moved to Colorado to be near her daughter.

Jeanne graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1936 and the College of Commerce in South Bend, Indiana.

She married Kenneth M. Wonson in Sodus, Michigan on October 16, 1942.

Jeanne worked for Whirlpool in St. Joseph and then for Farmers Home Administration in Benton Harbor, Michigan for 16 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph First United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and other areas of church life. She was active in the YWCA, Benton Harbor Auxiliary of Child and Family Services, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and PEO Chapter DV in St. Joseph, where she held the office of Treasurer.

Jeanne loved her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother, creating a warm, beautiful and loving home. She loved her church and her faith in Christ remained strong to the end. She enjoyed the adventure of travel, exploring the U.S. and Europe. She enjoyed bridge, reading, fine china and needlework. She will be remembered for being a wonderful mother and for having a warm and gentle spirit.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002; her parents and her sister, Carol Prillwitz.

Survivors include her son, Ronald K. Wonson and his wife Gilda of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Janet W. Alford and her husband Kenneth of Longmont, CO and Sheryl L. Faulkner and her husband Steve of Urbandale, IA; five grandchildren, Kristen Keronen and her husband Miikka of Longmont, Karen Ranglos and her husband David of Estes Park, Jeremy Wonson and his wife Christy of Dallas, TX, Robert Wonson of Austin, TX and Eric Wonson and his wife Sidse of San Antonio; 12 great-grandchildren; two nephews, George Langdon and Lester Wonson, both of St. Joseph and a niece, Sandy Prillwitz of Dowagiac, MI.

Memorial Service will be 11 AM Monday, November 12, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph, Michigan with Rev. Wade Panse officiating.

Cremation was held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Longmont. Inurnment at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco Ct., St. Joseph, MI 49085.
