Brian Louis Howell, August 23, 1966 - August 13, 2021

Brian Howell, beloved father, brother, son, uncle, nephew, and friend passed away the morning of August 13, 2021, at the age of 54.

He was born to Louis and Linda Howell in Belleville, Illinois, while Louie was stationed at Scott Air Force Base.

Between 1966 and 1970, the Howell family grew by two with Keith in 1967 and Michelle in 1970. In 1972, the Howells moved to Las Vegas, and here they stayed.

Brian graduated from Bonanza High School in 1984. With a keen eye that understood the trajectory of Las Vegas' meteoric growth, he became a full-fledged Realtor in 1994. At work, he possessed a warmth and integrity that garnered not just repeat clients, but enduring friendships.

In 1998, he became a father to his only son, Conor Brian. Together, they would embark on many family vacations to the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. They would share a love of video games and, after much research, declare the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be vastly superior to the DCU. Brian was a proud band dad, watching his son march in the Palo Verde HS trumpet section. He passed along his love of piano. To this day, Conor will sit at the keys and play songs from the Legend of Zelda games.

You can't think about Brian without thinking about sports. He formed his fandoms early, firmly devoting himself to Cincinnati's Big Red Machine, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Lakers, and the UNLV Rebels basketball. Since childhood, Brian absorbed box scores and stats like a sponge, and would keep this knowledge in reserve, ready to be deployed years later with debate-ending accuracy. Though unconfirmed, there are rumors he may have memorized all 1,000-plus pages of the Bill James Baseball Abstract. When it came to fantasy football, the man did not mess around. But as with all things in life, Brian was never a mere spectator. If it involved a ball, he was all inbowling, softball, basketball, and golf. He was the guy you could depend on to join the league. Commit to the tournament. Nab the early tee time.

He was the guy everyone loved to be around. To share his jokes, bask in his enthusiasm, raise a glass. To see his smile, hear his laugh, watch him dance. He danced all the time. Everywhere. Brian was made of music and rhythm and nimble feet. This was a gift from Louie. A gift he made all his own. The greatest pain of this loss is a simple onewe have been robbed of his company. He was such good company. He has left us all behind, for now. He is gone far, far too soon. For those of us still here, we should carry on as Brian would. With laughter. With exuberance. Perhaps with a Bud Light in hand. And we, in fine B Howell tradition, should cut a mean rug.

Brian is survived by his son, Conor. His parents, Louie and Linda. His siblings, Keith and Michelle. By Evan and Megan, his nephew and niece. His aunt Jill and uncle Jim. And by droves of friends and admirers who will miss him the rest of our days. The Celebration of Life was previously held.
