Dora Mae Battiest Ward was born on April 9, 1942, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Eron James King and Olene Battiest Orona. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jessie Orona, Leroy Orona, Johnny Orona, James King and Gregorio Orono; sisters, Madeline Baker and Nancy Orona.

Dora liked to sew and make blankets for her loved ones. She enjoyed crocheting and writing letters with little drawings on them. Dora loved going on random drives and even though the radio was playing she would burst out singing her own songs, mainly Choctaw Hymns. She loved cheeseburgers, burritos, feeding her birds, birthday cakes, going to the donut shop, working puzzles, watching basketball, football and of course her soap operas. Dora was a people person, always had a warm loving smile and never met a stranger. She would spend time sitting on her porch waving at people who drove by and was always happy when people stopped to visit. When her visitors left, she would say goodbye by standing at the door, sticking out her tongue and putting her hands beside her head. She loved artificial flowers and she told her family that if you gave her real ones they would just die!

Dora loved spending time with her family but above all she loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church and singings when she was able. She always prayed for everyone, especially her kids and grandkids. Dora wrote in a letter, when she is gone, she didn't want anyone to cry because she was in Heaven with her Momma and Daddy and would see us again one day. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones.

Dora is survived by her son, Marvin Others of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Carisa Wickson and husband Wesley of Hugo, OK, Martha Taylor and husband Hobie Taylor of Sobol, OK, Gladys Perkins and husband Thomas of Oak Cliff, TX; eighteen grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Levi King and wife Tomi of Norman, Lewis Orona and wife Janeth of Irving, TX Mario Orona and wife Dalana of Palestine, TX; sister, Darlene Gonzalez and husband Rolando of Grand Prairie, TX along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
