Karen Sue Bohn
March 12, 1936 ~ August 10, 2021 (age 85)

Karen Sue ( Leppert) Bohn of Petoskey, Michigan, age 85, passed away August 10, 2021. Karen was born on March 12, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to Jimmy and Eloise (Holder) Leppert. She graduated from Columbus North High School in 1953. Karen attended The Ohio State University before marrying Roger Bohn in 1955. They lived in Upper Arlington, Ohio for many years where they raised their family. Retirement brought them to Petoskey, MI in 2004. Even after relocating to Petoskey, she remained an avid Buckeye fan.

Karen never met a stranger, always making new friends of different ages and interests. She loved to talk, oh how she loved to talk. Perpetual motion was her way of life. Always busy either playing golf, attending cultural & educational events, exercising at the Senior Center,or cards & games at Petoskey Bay View Country Club. The Bay View Vespers Concerts were her favorite way to spend the summer Sunday evenings filled with music. Birthday celebrations for herself and others were big events, especially because she loved desserts. Throughout her life, Karen was passionate about all she did but especially her family and numerous friends. But what stood out most was her compassion for others. She cared deeply about everyone she knew. This passion was shown through her volunteer work at Manna Food Project, Hiland Cottage Hospice House and First Presbyterian Church among others.

Karen was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Springs, Petoskey Bay View Country Club and P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Karen is survived by daughter Lisa ( Bob) Jones and son Brad Bohn; granddaughters Ingrid Bohn and Carolyn Jones; brother Gary ( Nancy) Leppert and sister Lana ( Tom) Byall. In addition, she is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Karen is preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Roger Bohn.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 3 at 12:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Springs, 7940 Cemetery Rd Harbor Springs, MI., with a Celebration of Life reception following at Petoskey Bay View Country Club.
