Mr. James Harold Ballard, Jr., 32 of Mt. Vernon, passed from this life on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. He was born in Stanford, KY on April 19, 1989 the son of James Harold and Mildred Louise Mallicoat Ballard. He had been an employee of NAACO in Berea, KY.
He is survived by his father and step-mother: James Harold and Tina Ballard of Mt. Vernon; his grandmothers: Gail Anderson of Mt. Vernon and Annetta Mallicoat of Orlando; a brother: Josh Ballard and Sharley Dees of Mt. Vernon; three step-brothers: Russell and Sara Bullock of Livingston, Brandon Bullock and Kayla of Orlando, and Jacob Bullock and Stephanie Dixon of Brodhead; three aunts: Lynn McQueen and Mike Hampton of Florida, Tracy and Dewayne Simpson of Copper Creek, and Carcilla McGuire of Orlando; and an uncle: Billy Gene Robinson and Carla Lipscomb of Orlando. He was preceded in death by his mother: Mildred Ballard; his grandfathers: Harold Ballard and James "Matt" Mallicoat; and two uncles: Johnny Ballard and Keith Ballard.
Funeral services for Mr. Ballard will be conducted Thursday, August 19 at 11:00 AM at the Dowell & Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mallicoat Cemetery. Friends may call at Dowell & Martin Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday.
