Marvin Douglas Farmer, 68, of Hillsville, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 15, 2021. He was born in Galax, Virginia on May 4, 1953 to the late Arthur Allen Farmer and Delsie Newman Farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Burnette Farmer, a daughter Christina Bedsaul (Wayne), a son, Randall Farmer (Kendra), a granddaughter, Emily Carrico (Jason), two grandsons, William Farmer and Austin Farmer, and two great-grandsons, Lucas Higgins and Rylan Higgins. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his church family, and his bluegrass music family.

Marvin gave his life to Jesus in 1970 and was a member of Coulson Church of the Brethren for 51 years. He served his church as a Deacon as well as in various other roles. He especially loved playing bluegrass gospel music for services.

A private inurnment service will be held at the John E. Farmer Cemetery in Hillsville, Virginia. Pastor Harold Boyd will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to Coulson Church Building Fund, 4127 Coulson Church Rd, Hillsville, VA 24343 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
