Services wereheld today in Swan Funeral Home for Bruce W. Prater,2415 N. Meade Ave.,who died in a hospital here Monday.
The Rev. Russell McDowell officiated. Burial, with full military honors, was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Prater was born May 12, 1919 in Rulo,Neb.,and was married Nov. 10,1947 in Seneca,Kan.
a resident here since 1954, he was employed at Schneebeck's Industries.
He served in the Army and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. During his 14 years of military service, he was awarded the National Defense Medal,the Good Conduct Medal,the Army of Occupational Medal for Japan,Korea and Germany,the World War II Victory Medal,the Bronze Star,the Purple Heart,and the European African and Middle East Campaign Medals.
He belonged to First Friends Church.
He is survived by his widow,Mrs. Goldie M. Prater;tow sons,Billy and David Prater,and four daughters,Terry,Cheryl and Dina Prater,and Pat Keller, all of this city.
