Wesley William West, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, age 80, passed away on July 27, 2021. Wes was born September 26, 1940 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Albert and Lydia West. He attended Wheeling High School where he graduated class of 1958. Wes left Wheeling right after high school for California, where he worked with Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company for 46 years as plant superintendent. He was respected for his expertise in the field and continued to model plant operations for corporate employees even after his retirement. In his near five-decade stint with Utility, he left only to serve in the U.S. Army, which stationed him in Germany for four years. Wesley William West from Wheeling, West Virginia was beloved by many for his friendly and outgoing demeanor, tenacious spirit, and gentle heart. Wes was a people lover and took care of everyone. He had many loves, including tending to his yard, playing bingo, traveling, and doting on his wife. After Wes serendipitously met Dot at a night club, they were forever inseparable and together they built a life they loved. They were married for 38 years. Wes is survived by his wife, Dot West (n‚e Roberts) of Rancho Cucamonga, his daughter, Kari West, his stepchildren, Stan (Hus) Lydick of Azusa, CA, Cheryl (Paul) Campione of Gilbert, AZ, Jerry Sharp Jr. of CO, and Justin Sharp of Apple Valley, CA, his ten grandchildren, his sister, Nancy Gongola of McMechen, WV, his brothers, Howard (Sandy) West of ID, James (Karen) West of PA, John (Sandy) West of Wheeling, and Paul (Cora) West of OH. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Dulajski of Wheeling, WV, Nelda Lou Ice of New Martinsville, WV, and Bertha West of McMechen, WV, and brother, Gene West of Huntington Beach, CA. Services will be held at Pomona Cemetery on August 21, 2021 at 11am.
