Mary Estelle Kirkland, age 87, of Gastonia, NC, has went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 9, 2021. She was born on August 29, 1933 to the late Warren Taylor and Susie Mae Horton of St. Pauls, NC.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Orville Eugene Kirkland and brothers, Woodrow Taylor and Norman Taylor of St. Pauls, NC.

She retired from Wix Fillers after 26 years of service in Gastonia, NC. She attended Garver Memorial Baptist Church where she was a life-long member. Mary loved attending church and reading her Bible. Some of her passions included listening to music, traveling, going for walks, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Reverend David Stewart officiating. The burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
