Rodney Paul Carroll, age 53, of Blandon, PA, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008. (Arrangements by Hicks Home for Funerals 410-398-3122)
Born on December 25, 1954, in Elkton, he was the son of Shirley Taylor Bortner, York, PA, and the late Miller E. Carroll.
Mr. Carroll had worked in construction, and had attended Pleasant Hill Evangelical Christian Church. An avid Civil War buff, he enjoyed working at Seyfert Campgrounds near Reading.
In addition to his father, Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Sakers Carroll.
Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rodney P. Carroll Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
