Judith Jones was the daughter of Arthur James JONES and Rose Margaret WHEELER. Born in Iowa, she grew up in the small town of Battle Creek, Iowa, until her family moved to Mishawaka, Indiana. She began high school at Battle Creek High School. Her family moved to Mishawaka after 9th grade, and she was at Mishawaka High School for 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. She graduated with the MHS Class of 1958 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She earned her undergraduate degree at Bethel College, in Mishawaka. Her first teaching job was at Main Junior High School, in Mishawaka, where she taught English. On April 11, 1970, she married John Patterson BROWN, Jr., in Denver, Colorado. Two sons and a daughter were born to the marriage. Mr. Brown died in 1995, and she married again, to Mr. CURRY.
