Barbara "Jo" Woods of Velma, Ok. was born to Jack and Madge (Beeson) Woods on
September 10, 1949 in Wynewood, Ok.
She passed from this life August 13, 2021 in Duncan Regional Hospital at the age of 71 years.

Funeral services will be at Velma Baptist Church. Internment will follow at Foster Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. The Velma Baptist Church will provide a meal in the Life Center.

Jo is the daughter of Jack and Madge Woods.
She was born in Wynewood Ok. She graduated High school in 1967.

She first worked at the Ardmore Air Park building telephones. She then moved home to Velma. At this time, the Woods family opened a convenience store. She and the rest of the family operated Woods Quik Sak. The store was family owned and operated from1985 to 1995. She then became CNA were she cared for and loved each of her patients. Her last job was with Family Dollar Distribution. She worked there for a few years. She met many of her life long friends while there.
Jo loved OU Sooner Football and tailgating with the Pennington family at each home game. She also loved the Atlanta Braves Baseball team. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, watching TV, and traveling. She recently bought a smart phone. MaKenley had taught her how to do everything on the phone. She never could figure out how to read a text or send one. She also struggled with answering her calls, but would always call you right back.

She was a cheerful, fun loving lady. Her smile could light up a room and it was infectious. She made everyone around her happy. Whether it was a funny story, her positive attitude or her big smile, she was a delight to be around.

Family was her most prized posession. She especially enjoyed the Woods Reunion each year.
She loved her family fiercely. Her niece's family was the light of her life. She cheered them on, was their biggest fan and loved every moment they shared.
She had many cousins that were like brothers and sisters. She had many friends who also became her family.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Madge Woods; a brother, Kenneth Woods; and a sister Jeannie O'Neal.

Her survivors include Kenna Griffith and husband Robert of Velma. MaKenley Griffth of Velma. Braxton Griffith of Arpaler, OK.
