He was a 1947 graduate of Reading High School. Dick served as a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. He graduated from Penn State, Lehigh Valley campus, in 1955.
He and his wife of almost 65 years, Marilyn L. (Wennell) Frank were married on November 17, 1956. He worked as a senior electrical engineering technician at Bell Laboratories for 35 years, retiring in 1990. In retirement, his passion was computers and genealogy, and he served the Berks County Genealogical Society for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Marilyn, are his son, Richard B. Frank, husband of Mary Ann, of Milton, DE, and daughter, Cheryl A. (Frank) Tazik, wife of Michael, of Morgantown. He was Pop-Pop to grandchildren Diana, Steven, Julie, Gregory, and Michael, and Great Pop-Pop to Ella, Avery,
Gavin, Adara, and Marisa. Dick is also survived by his sister, Margaret E. Kuhlman.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading, with burial at Gethsemane Cemetery, Hyde Park.
