Mrs. Barbara Feaster James, 78, of Chester died Sunday, August 15, 2021, at her home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Cool Branch Baptist Church, Hwy. 215 N, Blair, SC with Rev. John Epps officiating. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM Thursday in the social hall of the church.
Mrs. James was born June 5, 1943 and was a daughter of the late Cleveland Hill Feaster and Florence Alcon Dove Feaster. A graduate of Chester High School, she was a housewife and part-time employee serving as Secretary at Cool Branch Baptist Church for 44 years. Mrs. James was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church having served as Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, Director of WMU and various committees. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved God, her husband and family. She enjoyed cooking, decorating her home, planting flowers, shopping and reading novels.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, K. Larry James; one daughter, Lori J. Thomas (Mike) of Rock Hill; two sons, Joseph L. James (Lori) and Brian James both of Chester; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one brother, C. Brenton Feaster of Chester.
