Anna Mae Barnes

Anna Mae Barnes (nee Zorger), 75, of Elyria, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital Saturday afternoon, following a long illness.
Born in Stark Co., she was raised in Louisville,Ohio. She resided in Elyria 55 years.
She taught nursery school to retarded children in Elyria, and began a Cub Scout program for them, for which she served as a den mother. She was also active in PTA.
A member of the First Congregational Church, Elyria, she served as a deaconess for many -years.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by sons, Terrell H. Barnes of Elyria, Master Sgt. Robert C. Barnes of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and James B. Barnes of Elyria; daughters, Sarah J. and Margaret L. Barnes, both of Elyria; two grandchildren; brothers, Loren Zorger of Louisville,O., and David Zorger of Mesa,Az.; and one sister, Mrs. Janice Slater of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, in 1982.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, with the Rev. William H. Olsen, officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Children's Room of the Elyria Public ibrary.
Arrangements are by the Curtis-Scheuffler Funeral Home, Elyria.
