Funeral services for Mrs. Retha Neoma Morris, age 85, of Sarepta, LA, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the Bailey Funeral Home in Springhill, LA with Bro. Larry Earhart officiating. Interment will follow in Blocker Chapel Cemetery, Sarepta, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill.
Mrs. Morris was born on November 28, 1935 to William Neal and Mary Nora Edwards Bryant in Perry, AR and passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Sarepta, LA. She was a woman who put God first, her family second, and she came last. She would give whatever she had to those in need. She loved spending time with her family especially playing board games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, especially The Gaithers. She loved to do crafts and read books pertaining to her faith. She loved to garden and can the fruits of her labor. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by three daughters, Jean Burkacki of Elk City, OK, Linda Davis of Sarepta, LA, Dawn Bergeron and husband Steven of Springhill, LA; four sons, John Hansche and wife Mary of Farmerville, LA, Donald Hansche and wife Sharon of Marble Falls, TX, Kennith Hansche and wife Susan of Haughton, LA, Ricky Hansche and wife Reiko of El Paso, TX; twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-nine great-grandchildren; thirty-six great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 22 years, Edgar Morris; sisters, Pauline Gross and Bernice Hodge; brothers, William Bryant and Thurman Bryant; one son-in-law, Jim Burkacki; three grandchildren, Amanda, Kenneth, Daniel and Eugene; and one great-grandchild, Taryn.
Pallbearers are Jacob Bergeron, Doug Nooner, Tyler Bilbray, John Bubba Hansche, Jeremy Hansche, Joseph Hansche. Honorary Pallbearer is Steven Tru Ainsworth.
