Loving wife, mother, sister and friend, Sandra Lane of Brawley, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23rd.
Sandra was born March 20, 1940 in Oakes, North Dakota to Duane and Grace Gaspar. She was the eldest daughter of 5 children. Sandras family later relocated to Brawley, in the middle of her junior year of high school. She graduated from Brawley High in 1958. Sandra left home to attend North Dakota State University, and graduated in 1963, with a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy. She returned home to Brawley and started her career working as a pharmacist at Brawley Drug.
In 1974, she married Wayne Lane and started their family. She had two children Keira and Wayne II. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost and treasured her children. Sandra raised a family and continued with her career. She went on to work at Thrifty Drug, Rite Aid, and retired in 2003 from Vons Pharmacy. She continued to provide relief to many local pharmacies until 2018. Sandra worked as a pharmacist for 55 years. She enjoyed and was dedicated to helping others, it was her mission in life. Sandra loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandson "Alex", who was the apple of her eye.
She also loved watching television, traveling and going to plays in San Diego. Sandra was a member of The Order of Eastern Star and attended Westmorland Community Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne A. Lane, father, Duane Gaspar, mother, Grace Gaspar, and brother, Michael Gaspar.
Sandra is survived by her brother, Dirk Gaspar of Hutchinson, MN; sisters, Pam Gaspar of Yuma, AZ, and Lanai (Jeffery) Nunn of El Centro, CA,; daughter, Keira Lane of El Cajon, CA; son, Wayne A. Lane II and wife Josie Lane of Imperial, CA; and grandson, Wayne A. Lane III of Imperial, CA.
Services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley, CA. Visitation will be at 8 a.m. and Funeral Mass will follow at 9 a.m. Sandy will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery immediately following Mass. Our Mom, Grandma, Sister, and Friend will be dearly missed and be forever in our hearts.
