Robert W. "Bob" Hess Sr., 70, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born in Decatur, IN on February 8, 1951, the son of the late Robert H. and Ida L. (McCleash) Hess. On September 20, 1969, he married Betty Stevens, she preceded him in death on January 19, 2021.
He was a Truckdriver for many years, loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. In addition, he also loved their big family gatherings and playing cards.
He is survived by his daughter, Tricia (Amos) Miller of Decatur; a son, Robert W. (Brooke) Hess Jr. of Decatur; 4 sisters, Janet Berlanga of Decatur, Diane Longardner of Avilla, Carolyn Hart of Findley, OH, Faith Fairchild of Decatur; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Betty L. Hess; 3 brothers, Howard Hess, Jimmy Hess, Wayman Hess; 2 sisters, Marsha Deroff and Bonnie Lou Hess, in infancy.
There will be no services, per the family's request.
