Mr. Christopher (Chris) Jay Comer, 54, a resident of Winston-Salem (Wallburg Community) passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021.
Chris was born May 21, 1967 in Forsyth County, a son of Donald (Don) Lee Comer and Josie Livengood Comer and had made this area his home all of his life. He was a fitter welder for Lyndon Steel Company. Chris loved to fish, go to the beach, was a gun collector, enjoyed riding dirt bikes, listening to music and loved spending time with his family and friends. Chris was a social butterfly. He attended Gospel Light Baptist Church before his health declined.
In addition to his parents Chris is survived by his wife, Lori Ellen Brim Comer of the home; step-sons, Joshua Larrimore and Charles Deitz both of Winston-Salem; his brother, Kent Comer and his wife Lynn of Winston-Salem; nieces, Jessica Blackmon and Katelyn Motsinger both of Winston-Salem; and nephew, Tyler Comer of Winston-Salem.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 16, 2021 at Samaritan Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 pm Sunday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, 10301 N. NC Highway 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
