Ruth Foster Brown Duncan, age 98 of Hueytown, Alabama. The family was saddened by the death of Ruth, who went to her heavenly home on August 13, 2021. She grew up in Wylam where she worshipped at Wylam Presbyterian Church. After she married, she worshipped at Ensley Presbyterian Church where she served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and was a member the women's ministry. She served as Emeritus of Central Park - Ensley Presbyterian Church as well as several other ministries. At the time of her death, she worshipped at Hueytown Baptist Church. Ruth loved singing in the choir and serving in the women's ministry. She had the gifts of service and mercy that she used to minister to others all her life. She touched many lives with her love as she served and cared for others.
Ruth is preceded in death by her two loving husbands, Erskine Brown and William "Bill" Duncan, parents Ira and Martha Foster, sister Lois Reece, and brother John Foster.
Left to treasure her memory is her son, Timothy "Tim" Brown (Allyson); granddaughters Blair and Paige Brown; brothers, Charles Foster (Joanna), Bobby Foster (Katherine), several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be Monday, August 16, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A private entombment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
