Bill Taylor of Marked Tree, AR passed away on June 16, 2021. Bill was born on June 1, 1936, in Pocahontas, AR to Fred and Emily (Clarke) Taylor. He was the one of 9 Children. He loved life and loved his family. Bill bravely battled cancer for 2 years and managed to live independently during the majority of the fight. He was 85 years young when he died.
Bill married Genevia Harvell on September 27, 1961, and together they raised 5 children. He is survived by his children, Joanie B. Taylor of Memphis, TN, Billy W. Taylor of Marked Tree, AR, Robert J. Taylor of Osceola, AR, and Kellie A. Battles of Memphis, TN. Bill has 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He is also survived by 3 brothers - Bud Taylor of Marion, AR, Robert Taylor of Haslett, MI, and Doug Taylor of Lasing, MI. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Gene, his son, Johnny F. Taylor, his father and mother, 3 sisters - Gertrude, Marie, and Betty Lou, and 2 brothers - Jim, and Tom.
Bill was proud of his home State of Arkansas, and he loved his Marked Tree Community. He worked as a farmer, cotton gin operator, and carpenter. Bill loved people. He never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to help anyone who needed him.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Delancey Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, AR. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 a.m. Chapel service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Bill Taylor.
